Description of Doubleday Inn: The only Bed & Breakfast on the Gettysburg National Military Park, The Doubleday Inn, named for General Abner Doubleday, is situated on Oak Ridge offering a splendid view of the town of Gettysburg and the battlefield. Enjoy the welcoming charm of an inn filled with the comforts of home-cooked breakfasts, cozy quilts and country antiques. All nine guest rooms are individually decorated in English country fashion and tastefully appointed with Civil War accents. After a day of site-seeing, shopping or antiquing, we invite you to enjoy afternoon tea or cool refreshments in the inn's delightful common rooms or while enjoying the tranquil scenery from the inn's two large patios. On selected evenings, a Civil War historian will lead a discussion and bring the Battle of Gettysburg alive with accurate accounts of the historic campaign.
